André Vermaak
Founder and Shareholder
Andre Vermaak is a Founder and Shareholder of the Oryx Group of Companies, a leading provider of cleaning, hygiene, and facilities services across South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana.
With more than 24 years of industry experience, Andre has established a reputation for entrepreneurial leadership, operational excellence, and strategic business growth. In addition to co-founding the Oryx Group, he has successfully launched and developed several businesses, including CSC Health and Hygiene, Design Hygiene, and Nakisani Hygiene Services.
A significant milestone in Andre’s career was leading the service transition during Virgin Active Holdings’ acquisition of the Health & Racquet Club. This successful integration laid the foundation for a strong strategic partnership with Virgin Active South Africa, which has endured for nearly two decades.
Under Andre’s leadership, the Oryx Group has built an impressive portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. In addition to providing services to Virgin Active facilities nationwide, the Group’s clients include AB InBev, Famous Brands, Pareto Limited, Beekman Group, and Legacy Hotels & Resorts.
Andre’s commitment to innovation, service excellence, and long-term client partnerships continues to drive the growth and success of the Oryx Group throughout Southern Africa.
Brendan Olding
Managing Director
Brendan Olding is the Managing Director of the Oryx Group and brings over 21 years of experience in leading and managing the commercial and operational functions of organisations within the cleaning and facilities services industry.
Throughout his career, Brendan has successfully delivered tailored cleaning solutions to a diverse portfolio of blue-chip clients across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, retail, and healthcare. His strong focus on service excellence, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction has enabled him to build lasting relationships with some of South Africa’s most recognised organisations.
Clients he has worked with include DHL Deutsche Post, Fury Group, Super Group, Hatfield Motor Group, H&M, Barloworld Logistics, Life Healthcare, Everite, and Tsogo Sun.
As a hands-on leader, Brendan is passionate about developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the business. His extensive industry knowledge and commitment to excellence continue to play a key role in the growth and success of the Oryx Group.
Outside of work, Brendan enjoys staying active and spending quality time with his family.
Shaun Korb
Chief Financial Officer
Shaun Korb began his career in hotel management, completing in-service training with Protea Hotels while earning a Hotel Management Diploma, followed by advanced studies at Les Roches Hotel School in Switzerland. He later transitioned into accounting and finance, achieving qualifications including Financial Management (UNISA), ACCA Diplomas in Accounting & Business, an Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business, and a BSc (Hons) in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University (UK).
With over 30 years of hospitality experience, Shaun has specialized in the opening and startup of diverse hospitality and gaming properties, as well as consulting and project assignments across country clubs, restaurants, catering facilities, hotels, and leisure entities.
His expertise extends to financial management within the cleaning and hygiene industry, where he has provided strategic oversight and operational leadership. Shaun is committed to leveraging financial insight to support informed decision-making, strengthen organizational resilience, and drive sustainable business success.
Dave Bernhardi
Commercial Executive
Dr David Bernhardi (MBBCh, University of the Witwatersrand) is the Commercial Executive of Oryx Group, bringing a rare combination of medical expertise and business leadership to South Africa’s specialised cleaning and hygiene sector.
A qualified medical practitioner with over two decades of experience, Dr Bernhardi has served as Principal Investigator on 65 multinational clinical research trials, contributing to the development of several widely used medications. This clinical background underpins Oryx’s exacting standards in infection control, biological hazard management, and hygiene protocol across medical, hospitality, and industrial environments.
Marliza Mocke-Maree
Chief Operating Officer
With more than 24 years of experience across catering, cleaning, hygiene, and pest control services, Marliza Mocke-Maree has built a career focused on operational excellence, people development, and continuous improvement. Her journey began with 4 years in catering, where she successfully implemented HACCP systems in several hospital kitchens, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and compliance.
She then spent 16 years in the cleaning industry, progressing from Contracts Manager to Managing Executive of the largest division within one of the country’s leading cleaning companies. During this time, she gained extensive experience across diverse sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, mining, commercial, and industrial environments.
For a further 4 years, Marliza served as Managing Director of Hygiene and Pest Control at one of the largest cleaning companies, leading business growth, operational efficiency, and service excellence. She is a hands-on leader who enjoys finding innovative solutions to streamline complex challenges, while maintaining a strong passion for people development and growing talent from within.
Outside of work, Marliza enjoys spending quality time with her family, seeking out new adventures, and making the most of any opportunity to spend time on the golf course.
Malehloa Lesawane
Human Resources
Malehloa Lesawane is a certified HR Practitioner registered with the Institute of People Management (IPM). She holds a National Diploma in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Administration Honours, a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts. She is currently completing her Master of Business Administration (MBA), further enhancing her strategic leadership and business acumen.
With extensive experience across both the public and private sectors, Malehloa is passionate about aligning people and business priorities. She believes that an organisation’s greatest competitive advantage lies in its workforce. Her leadership philosophy is centred on fostering high-performance cultures built on accountability, collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Family-orientated at heart, she values balance and enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, which grounds her leadership approach in empathy and authenticity.
Itsing Meeko
Risk and Compliance
- Itsing studied at the University of South Africa and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) in 2005 and holds a Diploma in Human Resources Management amongst other related qualifications.
- He has held various positions in several industries such as legal, telecommunications, banking, and global records management.
- He is a strategic thinker who executes tasks in line with core business needs, resulting in an efficient and results driven approach to the management of business objectives.
- His career has presented continuous success and has allowed him to leverage on the successful collaboration with colleagues that have worked with him in attaining business goals and objectives.
- In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family and friends.
